Hey guys! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week. Mine has been busy but successful! I’ve been studying all week for my real estate class test and finally took it last night. I passed! Next up is the state exam and then I will be a licensed real estate agent for the state of Florida. So, I’m not completely done yet, but it’s always nice to see things moving forward. Lately I’ve been feeling beyond grateful for everything life has offered me. Because of that I’ve had so much joy surrounding me not only in my day-to-day life but also in my own thoughts. It’s not always easy to keep a positive mindset. Honestly, sometimes the smallest things can be irritating or throw me off. Recently, whenever I have a negative thought creep into my mind, no matter what it may be, I try to cancel it out with something I’m grateful for.

The current circumstances in Texas are a huge eye-opener to why I have so many reasons to be grateful. (#thinkingoftexas) To see the huge community that has come together to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey is simply amazing. It just goes to show that even in the worst circumstances good will triumph. No matter what, people will always join together to help those in need and I think that’s pretty freaking great. You can donate to the disaster relief fund for Hurricane Harvey at this LINK. It’s the one I used through Red Cross so it’s reliable and you can also pay through Paypal. Even just the smallest amount will make a difference! With that being said, I am dedicating this post to the victims of Hurricane Harvey and listing all of the things that I’m grateful for. There’s so much, probably too much to name but these are the things on the top of my mind right now, so here it goes!

  1. The support of my family: I realize not everyone has this, and geeze… I really wish they did. I’ve been so lucky to have complete and total support from my entire family with everything I’ve ever done. My parents are amazing, my sister is my best friend, I’m close enough to my aunt and uncle to live with them and my baby cousins brighten up my day with one hug, smile, or laugh. My grandparents never fail to send me sweet messages and my pets, well, they are the sweetest little animals to walk the earth
  2. Candles & Coffee: My two favorite C’s! Lighting my candles and having a cup of coffee at my desk first thing in the morning when I get to the office is seriously one of my favorite parts of the day!
  3. Health: I am so thankful for my health and the ability to make my body stronger. If you take care of your body, workout, and eat healthy you will start to notice significant differences not only in the way you look, but also in the way you feel. Not going to lie, I used to work out solely to get my body to look “better”. Now that I’ve realized how much of a difference it makes in the way that I feel, the vanity point has been lowered on the list of reasons that I choose to live a healthy lifestyle.
  4. The people that just “get” you: You know what I’m talking about. The people that can tell when you’re down without a single word uttered and know how to make you smile when you need it most. They know your favorite color, ice cream, things to do, etc. I know you’re thinking of someone! Whoever it may be, those people are the best.
  5. Laughs: Because there is nothing like cracking up uncontrollably. I’m talking pee your pants, crying kind of laughing. It’s the joy that your body just can’t hold in!!
  6. The little moments that stick with you: Those moments that you can’t let go. The ones that you think about during the day and can’t help but smile or laugh to yourself. This week I had quite a few of those moments with my little cousins. The 1-year-old, says my name when I come and go and I’m amazed at how smart she is. The 4-year-old is the sweetest little guy I’ve ever met and he’s also quite the skater—he’s already getting up on my longboard! The 8-year-old is fearless of being herself, never fails to make me laugh, and always puts a huge smile on my face. I cherish the little moments that I get to spend with these sweet babies as I watch them grow into the most amazing, kindhearted, caring people. Sometimes you just need to see the world through a little kid’s eyes!
  7. Uncertainty of the future: I don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow, tonight, or even 5 minutes from now. Either way, I’m excited to find out what the future holds. There is so much opportunity, so many amazing people to meet, and of course…. lots of good food to try! Hehe. I’m just feeling grateful for whatever the future may hold. It’s uncertain but that’s what makes it exciting!
  8. Pictures: I love taking pictures, I love editing pictures, posting pictures, and I’ll just go ahead say it….I love being in pictures! A picture can help you relive a moment in time that couldn’t be repeated otherwise. I surround myself with pictures of the things that make me happy so that I’m constantly reminded of how much love is in my life.
  9. Sweet voicemails: I think sweet voicemails are pretty much the best thing ever….after puppies of course! To have someone leave you a voicemail letting you know they care is just genuine on another level. Sweet texts are great too but it’s something about hearing someone’s voice. I got the sweetest voicemail after I passed my test and was left with a smile for the rest of the night!
  10. Sunshine: I don’t think I realized how important sunshine was to me until I moved to Florida! Having (almost) constant sunshine has made me realize how happy and energetic it makes me!
  11. Connections: It’s pretty amazing to have a connection with someone whether it’s over creativity, silliness, experiences, or common interests. It’s the best when you find a friend that you feel like you’ve known for years when it’s actually been so much less.
  12. Makeup: Hey guys, I had a kind of stressful week so I’ve gotta give it to my makeup. Thanks for making me look alive again!!!
  13. Time: You never know how much time you have with someone else, in a certain place, or with yourself. Thinking back on college I was soooo ready to get out and move on to the real world. Now that I’m here I’ve realized how much more I could have appreciated those times. Maybe they weren’t always perfect, but they were pretty great. Don’t get me wrong, Florida life is amazing, but instead of dreaming of the future I want to live in the moment, appreciate the time that I have and utilize it to my best ability. Being with others is great, but being with yourself is also great because ….YOU”RE AWESOME!

Thank you guys so much for stopping by my site! I don’t want you all to feel pressured, but if you would like to donate to the victims of Hurricane Harvey the link is below. Love you guys so much, you all are seriously the best. Have a great night babes!

My Bucket List

Friday, August 25th, 2017

/ top(similar) / shorts / wedges  / necklace / lipstick (lilac flush)/ Ella B Boutique / Lola Chiq Boutique /

Hey guys! I hope you’ve had an amazing week so far. I am on my lassssst week of the real estate course so it’s safe to say I’m going to be studying in all my free time. It’s been super hard for me to get back into the study grind now that I’m no longer in school so I’ve been resulting to my new comfort snack, Earth Balance coconut peanut butter. Actually, I’m currently licking it off a spoon like a dog. But hey, give a gurl a break. Life is RUFF (pup pun intended). But seriously, it’s so good you should most definitely try it. Although I will warn you…it’s addicting!

Aside from delicious peanut butter I’m super excited about expanding the topics of my blog and thinking out of the box on my posts. I’ve been so lucky to travel certain parts of the world, meet amazing people, and have once in a lifetime experiences. Reminiscing on those times motivates me to become a stronger, smarter, kinder human. Not only because of the lessons I’ve learned along the way, but also because of the realization of how truly blessed I am. I want to strive to grow through my experiences so that I can share a mutual inspiration with others to become the most confident, considerate, and transparent version of myself. So, I thought I would share my bucket list with you guys! It’s a little out there, but hey a girl can dream—check it out below!

  1. Go to Canada: I’ve traveled to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, and Central America, but I’d like to do a lot more exploring in North America. I’ve heard amazing things about Canada and I follow a few accounts that post the most beautiful content of cities all over the country! My goal is to go next summer, so we will see if it happens!
  2. Learn to longboard: Ok so, I learned to surf in Australia and it was so much fun! Mixing the physical activity with the thrill is such an adrenaline rush. It gave me this feeling of accomplishment and balance that I want to continue to experience from time to time! I’m going to work on getting a surfboard and start to practice when the waves are good, but until then I want to give long boarding a shot! I got a ten toes longboard it’s 44 inches and perfect for beginners!
  3. Take a dance class: I don’t care if I look or sound like a total dweeb, I’ve always admired people who are good dancers! I think it’s an amazing talent, a great way to express yourself, and a good workout. I took two dance classes in college and they were a lot of fun. The first one was kind of a history class but the second one was a P.E credit. We even made up and performed our own dance at the end. Super cool experience even though the thought of me dancing in front of an entire class on a video projector sort of makes me cringe…. #goodtimes? I would love to take another dance class just for fun!
  4. Get involved with the community: I talked with a friend the other day who just got back from a mission trip from Guatemala. It was amazing to see how much one week changed her life and perspective. A major goal of mine this year is to get involved with the community and find a way that I can give back. Even if it’s something locally, I want to make time in my schedule to help, bond, and learn from someone who has lived a different life than me.
  5. THE Waffle Bar: To my future Prince Charming (I could very well be speaking to my dog) a waffle bar must be present at our wedding. Seriously guys, waffles are my complete and total weakness. I mean the fluffy goodness. how can you resist? I swear this is my only extravagant request! Aside from the 1000 doves……Lol jusssssst kidding I’ll be more than satisfied with a waffle bar!
  6. Buy Louis Vuitton Luggage WITHOUT breaking the bank: Ok guys so this goes a little deeper than simply walking into LV and grabbing some suitcases with a sugar daddy. Walking into a LV store and buying luggage has always been a dream of mine. But….to walk into a LV store and buy myself luggage without second guessing whether it’s making my bank account scream…With the assurance that I’ve worked for it and earned it. That’s the goal!
  7. Own a mini pig: I’m not talking about a regular baby pig that is going to turn into a huge hog. I’m talking about a real-life tea cup mini pig. The kind that you can dress in little cowboy outfits and stays small forever, ya know? It doesn’t get much cuter than that!
  8. Become as healthy and fit as possible: So, this isn’t something that happens overnight, but I’ve been working on fitness for a while now and it’s something I’m very passionate about. While I love traveling, relaxing, and eating all the waffles in the world I realize that I must be on a steady routine to work towards accomplishing this bucket list goal.
  9. Successfully give my dog Knight a bath: Okay I love my pup to death, but giving him a bath will be the death of me. He is absolutely terrified of water! I don’t know why but the groomer can’t even hold him down. This may be a silly bucket list item but it’s gotta happen some day….right!?
  10. Become a full-time blogger: My final bucket list item! My dream is to become a full-time blogger and grow Delightfully Du Jour to the point where I can support myself through my writing. I know this is a long shot, but I think you can accomplish anything you put your mind to if you are truly passionate about it. Rome wasn’t built in a day!

Thank you guys so much for stopping by to check out my bucket list. I know this list will forever be changing and growing, but it will be fun to look back in a few years and see how much I’ve marked off. Love you guys so much and I hope you have an amazing rest of your week!

The Parent Trap on Steroids & How to Slay the World with Blue Hair: My Latest Netflix and Music Addictions

Tuesday, August 22nd, 2017

rompershoes / clutch / necklace / hat (similar) /

Hey guys! I hope you had an awesome weekend, killer Monday, and that you enjoyed the eclipse. I didn’t have the glasses so I watched it on TV but it was still cool! It wasn’t completely dark here in Florida because the sun was only covered 86 percent, but the sky did go dim and everything was still and quiet. It was strange but peaceful. It kind of felt like the craziness of the world stopped for a second and everything was in sync. Have you guys seen the movie Click with Adam Sandler? I had a moment where time was paused and I felt like I was going to walk inside and see my family frozen lol! Ohhhh the pranks I would play…..(insert sly face emoji)

Anyway, I got this romper from Lola Chiq boutique and it’s safe to say this store will be my weakness now that it’s only miles away. It’s located in Palm Beach Gardens and I swear guys, everything is so cute I wish I could have it all. Check out their Instagram and you’ll see what I’m talking about! I shot this look in downtown Abacoa, where I think I will spend a lot time once I finish my real estate course. It’s clean, updated, has a few cute restaurants, stores, and bars, and is just an overall a pretty area. We ate at Jumby Bay after the shoot, and it was really good! The menu has a wide variety of items, including salads and healthy options. I got the Summer Salad and it was on point! I’m excited to get a lot more exploring done once I have more time. I can’t wait to fill you guys in on all the ins and outs of this beautiful city!

So, I don’t have a lot of time to watch Netflix anymore, but sometimes at night I’ll watch it before I go to bed. I started this movie called What Happened to Monday and I’ve been watching it over the past few nights until I fall asleep. It’s super crazy! It’s the kind of crazy that you’re like “woooow that’s messed up,” but can’t seem to take your eyes away. Lots of action and Noomi Rapace is a total boss. In my opinion, she kills it because she acts out identical septuplets. Parent Trap on steroids? I think yes! I know being an actor is hard work, but acting out 7 different characters? That’s pretty badass. You go girl!

Speaking of bad asses, I’ve been obsessed with the new Halsey album. Okay, maybe it came out in June but I’ve been keeping it on replay ALL summer long. It’s seriously so catchy, and I believe this album was the first female album to go #1 on Billboard top 100 this year. I really like all the songs, but I think my faves are probably “Hopeless”, “Sad”, “Don’t Play”, and “Lie”. I love how her music is so neutral, you can listen to it while you’re working out, jamming in the car, or going out with friends. She also slays the blue hair. Anyone who can rock blue hair is winning at life in my book. She may have inspired me to break out the mermaid extensions again!

Thank you guys so much for checking out my site, I hope you have an awesome day and rest of your week! If you have any comments or questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Love you guys!

7 Things You Learn When You Move to a New Place

Wednesday, August 16th, 2017

// lola chiq // top // skirt // shoes // hat // sisters necklace //

// choker (similar) // lipstick (russian red) // watch //

Hey lovies! I hope you’ve had an awesome week. If you follow my social media you know I just moved to Florida! I’m loving it here. The only things missing are my fur babies. Once they are here, I don’t think I could have asked for a better location to start my life after school. Lol at the meme that has been going around saying “millennials are buying houses for their dogs—not their children or marriages”. I have to say, I can most definitely relate! I have dreams of a big yard for my pets. But anyway, it could be my energy, or maybe the sunshine, but the people here have been so nice. I have felt so welcomed everywhere I go and I’m so happy I decided to make this move.

I’ve been doing a little revamping to the blog and I’m so excited to announce that I’ll be working with an amazing photographer, Brandon, founder and photographer of Diamond Imagery. He is so talented and I’m super pumped to be consistently collaborating with him! Aside from that I am doing some reorganization to some of the sections on the blog. My menu will now include “Style”, “Pastimes”, “Home”, and “Self”. Style really won’t be changing much, but I would like to do a few more Instagram updates. Pastimes will consist of my hobbies so, posts in this section will be about things like working out, traveling, and cooking. Now that I’m working with a real estate company I see so many beautiful homes and I also love to decorate my own (on a budget)! The home section will consist of some of the current listings at The Holland Group and how I change up the decor in my own home. Finally, self will primarily be about how I lead a healthy lifestyle mentally and physically. I can’t wait to share my thoughts with you guys in hopes that they will be inspiring and beneficial to your lives.

With that being said, I’d like to share a few things that I’ve learned while making the big move. Luckily, I’ve had the support of my family and friends to get me through this huge transition in my life. It’s crazy to think that this time last year I was rushing from class to class, swarmed with assignments and due dates. I think the biggest difference in switching from college life to the real world is that you don’t really have a set schedule. Time management is key if you want to live a productive and success driven life. I’ve realized so much about myself being thrown into a completely new environment. So, I went ahead and made a list of the top 7 things I’ve learned throughout this move and I’m excited to share it with you all!

1.You HAVE to go out on a limb: Whether it’s finding new friends, a job, gym, bank, hair stylist, or place to live, you have to go out on a limb and trust in yourself to make things happen. Reaching out to others is key. It can be intimidating and stressful but as long as you relax into your own skin and know that the first step to reaching goals is communication you will get things done.

2. Who ‘s gonna stick it out till’ the end: This is bittersweet, but true. When you move to a new place you will without a doubt see who’s there for the long run and who may just be a fair-weather friend. Letting go is part of life and I’m a true believer that everything happens for a reason. The people that are meant to be in your life will stay, and those who aren’t won’t. As long as you keep pushing through when times are hard, trust that better things are coming, and realize that you are making the right decision FOR YOU things will fall into place.

3.Your important relationships will form a stronger bond: It’s true, absence really does make the heart grow fonder. Now that I’m so busy and so many miles away, simple phone calls with friends and family mean so much more to me. My sister and I can spend hours on the phone talking now that we don’t see each other every day and our relationship has definitely grown. Reaching out to my friends as much as I can has become so important because I don’t see them every day anymore.

4. Don’t be afraid to ask questions: Asking a question starts a conversation! When I travelled to Australia and New Zealand I quickly learned that asking a local where something was turned out to be much more efficient than navigating the walking directions on an IPhone. The same applies to this situation whether I’m trying to find something around town or meet new people. If you don’t know something, ask. Usually someone will be more than willing to help you. Plus, questions start conversations, and conversations make friends!

5.You will get lonely: I’m not going to lie to you guys and say I haven’t felt an ounce of homesickness. Sure, I miss my comfortable little apartment in Boone, Netflix dates with my sister and pets, and nights out with friends. But I know that this is a growing process that will lead me on the path to being my best me. Change can be uncomfortable but time will fill that void and soon enough you will feel right at home in a place that was completely alien to you 6 months ago. If you start to feel the loneliness creeping in, pick up something that will keep you busy. The feeling will pass. Give it time and trust in your path!

6. It’s all about the attitude: My four-year-old cousin Jack, plays ball in the pool every day. If he has a hard time catching the ball, he and his dad say together, “I am GOING to catch this next ball!” He always catches it. By throwing myself into a new place with so many new goals to achieve it is easy to say I’ve been a bit overwhelmed. I started a new job, class, and I’m also trying get the blog going again. I could spend time focusing on how overwhelmed I am or I could tell myself that I am GOING to reach my goals and knock down any obstacles that stand in my way. Personally, I think the second choice is much more effective!

7. Take things day-by-day: Moving is a huge transition in your life. Whether you graduated and you’re off to college, you’re moving a few states away for a job, or you’re simply moving houses it can be a lot to take on. Take things day by day and realize that you made the choice to move for a reason, the seasons of life will provide you with tremendous growth, and that you are right where you are supposed to be. Adjustment takes time!

Thank you guys so much for stopping by my site! I hope your week is everything you wanted and more. So much love for you all and I’ll talk to you soon!
