Hey guys! I hope you’ve had an awesome week. Sorry I haven’t been posting as much I’ve been super busy getting back into my routine. I’m very excited about this semester because I’m finally getting all of my general education classes out of the way and starting my apparel design and merchandising classes! I’m currently typing this as I wait for my textiles lab, where I learn how to identify certain textiles, how they are made, how long they last, etc. I can’t wait to broaden my knowledge on fabrics and fibers so I can start to choose the items I blog about more carefully and review them in a more knowledgable way.
I love the varsity sweater trend this season, its such a simple piece that can be styled so many different ways. The sweater I’m wearing is from Chicwish, but to be honest it’s a little itchy. When I realized it was made from acrylic I knew that it was made a little more cheaply and that was why. I did a little research and found one exactly like it (but a little pricier) from Nordstrom made out of 100% cotton so it will be much softer and cozier than the one I have. Lesson: always check what the items you plan to order offline are made of, and do your research, comfort is worth a few extra bucks! I paired this sweater with my high waisted black leggings, cheetah print flats, and my dark green parka that is also from Chicwish. I really like this jacket because it’s very similar to the army green jackets that are in this season but personally it’s a little easier for me to dress this jacket up and down, whereas I feel you can only wear the army jackets casually.
For my accessories I used my Gigi New York Taylor tote, black Tiffany and Co. cat eye sunnies, the Parker two-toned Michael Kors watch, and finally my two Rocksbox accessories, the Wanderlust + Co. infinity bracelet, and the Perry Street Bleecker crystal earrings. I put a pair of very similar earrings up as an option for you guys because unfortunately these exact earrings are exclusive to Rocksbox. They are introducing Perry Street as a new jewelry designer and you can check them out on their blog here, it’s super cute stuff! Also, you guys should definitely look into Rocksbox. It’s such a great deal, providing you with 200$ worth of designer jewelry each month for only 20$. If you decide you want to keep the jewelry you don’t even have to say it just keep it, and its yours at a discounted price!

Hey guys! I hope you’ve had an awesome week. I’ve had a really great week, good luck has just been falling into place and I’m telling ya, it’s all about that positive thinking and focusing on the right things that I talked about in my last post! I have to say I do believe the law of attraction really really does work. Above is my desk/study/work space. I’m currently redecorating but I figured I should get this post up as quickly as I can into the new year, although I will continue to keep you updated on my room makeover!
So staying organized for me is extremely hard. I’m a very scatter minded person and sometimes I find myself being all over the place whether it’s staying organized with my blogging, school, or even keeping my clothes organized. I’ve realized that staying organized is something that I’m going to have to try really hard at, but once I make it a habit my life is going to be so much easier. Studies show that it only takes 21 days to form a new habit…3 weeks? I can do this! So if you’re like me, you need all the tips you can towards staying organized, and I’m here to give you some of which I find most helpful!
1. Make a color coded schedule: I have found this to be extremely helpful. I opened a Microsoft excel document and labeled the columns Monday through Friday. I inserted the times of my classes into the spaces, the later the time the further down I put them so no different times were in the same row. I then highlighted each class with a different color and left my empty spaces open for studying, blogging, and working out. Below is an example schedule because I didn’t think it was the safest idea to post my actual schedule hehe.
2. Put your stuff back where you got it: I seriously have the hardest time with this. I’m usually pretty rushed so I tend to throw my stuff around. If you just put your stuff away it is much easier to navigate through those rushed mornings knowing where everything is, not to mention taking care of your stuff makes it last much longer!
3. Pack your things the night before: This helps me so much. Like I said I am usually super rushed in the mornings, so having my backpack packed and ready to go saves so much time. This way I don’t forget anything I need when I’m in that panicky rush!
4. Write down your three most important tasks in order and complete them in that order: I find that this really eliminates stress. If you write down what you need to get done it’s much easier to motivate yourself to perform these tasks and move on to the next three! The Lilly agenda in the pictures above is extremely great for this. It has so much space to write and make lists!
5. Embrace change: Change is inevitable. Whether your moving to a new town, getting a new job, or getting a new school schedule, things are going to change. You have to find ways to adjust to change, and by being organized you will have all of your familiar belongings where you need them and when you need them. Staying organized during these times of change can really eliminate stress for the future, so embrace the change, don’t let it overcome your newfound organization skills!

Hey guys! So the reason I’m standing by two huge trash bags in this picture is because they are full of clothes that I’m taking to Goodwill! I had absolutely no space in my closet and had to part with some of my stuff! Oh well, its for a good cause so its totally worth it!
Do you ever feel like you need something more? Do you feel like something is missing and you just can’t figure out what it is? This is no way to feel when life has so much to offer. Focusing on the wrong things can really give you that sense of emptiness. Maybe you’re in a bad relationship, maybe your focusing on how you’re not in a relationship, maybe your parents are getting divorced, or maybe you’re just stressed all around. I have found that focusing on the negatives DOES NOT bring you any positives, and while hard times can cause you to subconsciously have those negative thoughts in the back of your mind they are a big waste of time and happiness. Working hard on something is never a negative, well unless its drug dealing or being a serial killer haha. But really, finding a hobby or working really hard at your job, school, or a charity will give you that fulfillment that you’ve been looking for.
You can’t find happiness in someone else, you can only find it in you. By working hard at something you love you are bringing yourself closer to yourself if that makes any sense. Personally, I love to put outfits together, blog, knit, and workout but there are so many awesome things that you can focus on that can make a positive impact on your life! It takes going out of your comfort zone to make a change but its totally worth it. Trust me. I had no idea how to design a website nor did I have any idea how hard it would be. By stepping out of my comfort zone and publishing my blog to everyone I know, I was really able to fulfill that emptiness.
For so many years I looked in the wrong places for this fulfillment but I finally found it right here, not in a relationship, and definitely not in a party. I’m not trying to blab about my personal life, or to hate on relationships or partying, but more trying to inspire you and express that if I can find this fulfillment, you guys can too! Search inside and ask yourself what you really love. Once you find it, research it, and find out what you can do to get involved. Hard work never goes without a reward. Whether its a job offer, a sweet Facebook message, or most importantly the rewarding feeling you get from accomplishing something. You are only confined by the walls you build yourself, so knock em’ down and begin your journey. I assure you that you won’t regret it!

Hey guys! As you can see, theres a ton of options above because almost everything in this outfit is sold out! I tried to get the options as close as I could to the originals, and mixed the scarf color up a bit! I’m gonna make this post short and sweet because I’m on vacation with my family, but stay tuned for more warm winter outfits coming soon! To get these beach waves I added a few loose curls to my natural curls with my straightener, then combed them out, sprayed it with the beach spray above, and blew it dry with my diffuser on low. Also, I took a trip to the Gardens Mall today and some of my favorites will be up here soon too. Thanks for stopping by my site guys comment below or email me at email@example.com with any comments o questions!

After a long day of traveling, I’ve finally made it here to Florida. I love it here, it really is the perfect paradise. Its an escape away from reality…tanning, shopping, good food. As much as I love this vacation lifestyle I can’t help but look forward to getting back on my routine. Being on a routine keeps me stable and healthy mentally and physically. Starting a routine can be challenging and quite frankly intimidating, and by no means am I saying I’ve been the master of routine because I definitely haven’t. I like to be lazy, I like to have fun, I like to indulge, and I like to have those days where I eat badly and don’t do anything but sit around and watch Netflix. I’ve definitely done some of that over this break and I know I’m not alone, and I want you guys to know you aren’t alone either!
Instead of beating myself up about what I didn’t do right, I use what I can start to do right as my motivation. Knowing that I go back to school in about a week I want to get ahead of the game, and I can’t think of a more perfect place to start than on this stress free vacation I’m on. I’m not perfect, my days never work out how I expect them to, life goes on and I refuse to waste any of my precious time making myself feel worse about what I haven’t done rather than using that time to progress. So even though I’m not in the most ideal atmosphere for starting my routine I realize that it’s never too late to start practicing even if you’re traveling and don’t have access to your regular gym or routine tools. Below I’m going to post a few healthy options for a travel day and an at home workout that doesn’t require any gym equipment. I’m also going to give you a few of my favorite tips on starting a routine or just getting back into one.
Travel day foods:
McDonald’s McCafé Strawberry Banana Smoothie (210 calories)
McDonald’s Breakfast Fruit ‘N Yogurt Parfait (150 calories)
Okay guys, so I know what you’re thinking…EW McDonald’s, that is not healthy… these two options are MUCH better than your regular fast food breakfast though. The strawberry smoothie is only 210 calories, and is made out of just a strawberry banana juice base, low fat yogurt, and ice! The parfait is even better. At just 150 calories this yummy breakfast is also made out of low fat yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, and low fat granola.
Nature Valley Mixed Berry Greek Yogurt Protein Bars (190 calories)
I had one of these bars on my trip today and it was so yummy. It’s a combination of nuts, oats, and berries, offers 10 grams of protein, 3 grams of fiber, and it kept me satisfied until lunch!
Subway Double Chicken Chopped Salad (250 calories the way I made it)
So this is a little bit longer of a stop for your trip just because you usually have to go into Subway, but there is that rare occasion where they have a drive thru! I really think it’s worth it because you get to choose what you want on your salad. Just because your getting a salad at another restaurant doesn’t mean its necessarily a much healthier choice because you really don’t know what is on it. Dressings can really bring up that calorie count so I try to stick to something light with a vinegar base. On my salad I have of course the lettuce and chicken breast, then I add on American cheese, spinach, olives, cucumber, and tomato. All together this is 250 calories, but say you choose a dressing like ranch that goes way up to 500 calories. The good thing about the link I posted is that you can calculate what you want on your salad and see what the calorie intake is!
Blue Diamond Whole Natural Almonds (160 Calories per serving)
Almonds are such a great snack and they are so good for you. The awesome thing is that the serving size is about 28 nuts, and I’m usually full way before I eat that many! They are so substantial and really keep you satisfied.
Starbucks Chicken & Hummus Bistro Box (270 Calories)
This awesome box comes packed with hummus, grilled white chicken strips, cucumber, grape tomatoes, and a wheat pita. Its really a beyond healthy option for travel! Who knew Starbucks could provide you with a healthy meal and coffee for those late night road trips!?
Quick At Home Workout
15 push ups
20 sit ups
20 alternating lunges
60 jumping jacks
60 second wall sit
Tips for Getting on a Routine
1. Go to bed and wake up at a reasonable hour: (sleep routine)
I know, I know, it’s vacation its almost a rule that you have to sleep in right? Well sleeping in doesn’t mean you have to sleep until 12, almost half of the day is gone! Studies even show that oversleeping can make you even more tired. So go to bed at a reasonable hour so you can get that 8 hours in but wake up when you do. I like to try and get up by 9am to start my day and maybe get a quick workout in so I can have all of that behind me and utilize the rest of the day!
2. Don’t hit the snooze button on your alarm: (sleep routine)
I know how hard. Trust me. The horrid sound of the iPhone ringtone “radar” (that’s mine) goes off and immediately you slam your phone for that extra 8 minutes of sleep. These 8 minutes are not going to change anything guys, they aren’t as precious as they may seem but getting up and around and using your time to start your day without being late is!
3. Make plans: (sleep & workout routine)
If you have a commitment it is much, much easier to get up. So make plans with a friend for a late breakfast or early lunch or maybe even a workout date!
4. Lay out your clothes: (workout routine)
This may not seem like it would make a big difference but it does. On vacation or in every day life you’ll go to bed motivated thinking “Oh I’m going to workout first thing in the morning!” but once you wake up in the morning you aren’t quite as pumped. Laying out your clothes is a huge reminder of that motivation you had the night before and it will make you feel somewhat guilty if you walk by them and decide to go watch Netflix and eat waffles (yes I’ve done this before and the guilt was totally not worth it!) So get motivated and lay those clothes out the night before so you are prepared!
5. Write down what you want to get accomplished: (work/school/everyday routine)
I didn’t start doing this until this year but I really find that it helps. If you organize your thoughts and goals into a list its much easier to get done whether its studying or grocery shopping!
6.CLEAN!: (Everyday Routine)
Starting your routine in a clean and organized environment can make all the difference. You know where everything is and I really believe that the less cluttered your space is the less cluttered your mind is!
Thanks for stopping by my site guys! I’m off to the pool to get some sun! I hope you have a great day, also stay tuned for some warm weather winter outfits! Thanks again, comment below or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions!
