Cause it’s the circle of liiiiiiiiifeeee!! Well not exactly, but who else finds it pointless to try and perfect your hair during the summer when the second you step outside that Mufasa mane is going to poof right back up? Well lately I’ve started to get in biz with my frizz and appreciate my curls for what they are, and summer is the best time for it because the effortless and natural look is so in! Any time I style my hair I use Davines products, but for curls in particular I love the All in One Milk and the Absolute Beautifying Potion. I apply the milk to my hair when it’s wet directly after I brush my hair after a shower, and I use the potion to add shine or as a heat protectant before I apply heat to my hair. For this look I styled this comfy striped dress from Anthropoligie with my open toed booties, black Kate Spade Bag, an a.v max gold cuff, and my new favorite Rocksbox addition, turquoise Kendra Scott “Elle” earrings. Also I finally found a link to the date night dress in my previous post so I have linked that above as well!
So if you guys follow me on Instagram you have seen that I recently became a mother….
Just kidding! But I did add an adorable little guy to my life, he’s a lab retriever mix and his name is Knight because of his little white chest (my knight in shining armor hehe!) I rescued my sweet little black/brown pup from the Watauga Humane Society and I am already so in love with him. I recently fostered an older dog and after I found her a home I started to ponder the idea of adding a dog to my life for good. I thought about it for about a month after and initially went to the humane society to find another older dog to foster. That is when the staff took me back to the puppy room and put me in a playroom with Knight and one of his brothers. The instant I held Knight I fell in love with him, he was so calm and nuzzled into my shoulder right away. It was funny because the other puppy was so hyper and outgoing and completely opposite! I can’t wait to update you guys on my little companion’s life as he grows. As any obsessive puppy owner would, I made Knight an Instagram so you can follow his extreme cuteness along with our day to day activities! (@knightthepuppy)

Happy Friday loves! I hope you had an amazing week. This post is coming to you from my hometown and the “golf capital” Pinehurst North Carolina. I’m at home this weekend celebrating an early Father’s Day with my dad and it’s been so nice to get away from summer school and relax a bit with my family and two pups. This morning I went to yoga at Hot Asana of Southern Pines and my mom and I went to get manis and pedis after. The temperature is supposed to get up in the 90’s this weekend so I’m excited to hit the pool and soak up some rays! Sometimes you just need to take a weekend to get away and pamper yourself so you can refresh from the craziness of life and feel recharged to take on the next week and I’m so grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to do that.
I am so in love with the embroidery trend this summer, it’s feminine, classic and perfect for a date night. I got this dress at a small boutique in Florida and I searched all over the internet, but unfortunately couldn’t find a link anywhere. Instead I tagged 5 gorgeous embroidered dresses in the links above to give you guys a lot of different options! I paired this dress with my open toed booties, Tory clutch and gold accessories. To top off this look I used the deep burgundy lipstick “Rebel” by Mac and styled my hair in loose curls.
The night I shot this look I went to one of my favorite places in Boone, Cobo Sushi Bistro & Bar. Cobo has the atmosphere of a city which I love because I crave the city vibe living in a small mountain town. It’s the perfect place for a date night or girls night because you can easily share all of the sushi rolls! Cobo is located right on Howard Street in downtown Boone and it’s a great place to start if your planning on bar hopping because it’s within walking distance of a few great bars. Cobo is definitely one of my faves so make sure to check it out if you’re in the Boone area!

Hello loves! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I went out with friends, had a cookout, tanned, and tried to absorb as much of the beautiful weather as I could before it started storming! I was excited to share this look with you guys not only because this was the first time that I rocked the high pony without it feeling like it was going to fall out the entire time, but because I knew this was the look that I wanted to pair with the introduction of my new page “Delightfully Delicious”. This page is going to feature all things delicious, including snacks, meals, and drinks! I will not only provide recipes to my favorite eats, but I will also review restaurants that I visit throughout my day to day life and travels.
So usually I try to eat relatively healthy and clean, but I definitely have my cheat days too. I love to eat, but who doesn’t!? I like to use my cheat days eating the best of the bad, meaning I like to cheat by going out to restaurants and experiencing new things. I can’t wait to introduce you guys to all of my favorite snacks, inside and outside of my kitchen! So let’s get started, but most of all let’s get DELICIOUS!
If you guys follow me on snapchat (Kellzzzzzz) you know I am a huge smoothie lover. I usually start my days off with a smoothie so I thought I would introduce you guys to some of my faves! Hey guys! I hope you had an amazing start to your week. I’ve gotten a lot of questions about my blue ombre extensions aka “mermaid hair” so I decided to feature them in this post! For this look I paired my white crop from Darci & Co. with my black tie-dye shorts from Lulu’s. I wore my grey Converse and tied my hair up in the “party pony” to continue the playful vibe throughout this look. To accessorize I layered two of my favorite Kendra Scott necklaces linked above, paired them with my neon yellow Loren Hope studs for a pop of color, and loaded my wrists up with my forever faves– Alex and Ani Bangles and Kate Spade pearl backed watch. I also added that beachy summer feel to my wrists with a little Pura Vida beaded bracelet. Finally I finished this look off with a pop of pink on my lips and the latest love of my life, my black leather Kate Spade “Pippa” satchel!
The blue ombre extensions I linked above are the actual Kylie Hair Couture extensions, but mine aren’t. I dyed my extensions myself and you can too! If you don’t plan on wearing the extensions a lot there isn’t really a point in getting super expensive ones, and what’s great is that beauty supplies stores such as Sally’s have a pretty large variety of inexpensive extensions to choose from. If you do plan on wearing them a lot I would definitely recommend Bellami. When I purchased a new pair of the Bellami Bambina 20″ in dirty blonde I decided to test the blue out on my old pair, and this process worked great for me so I thought I would let you guys in on it too! All you need is your extensions, a pair of rubber gloves, hair bleach for dark extensions, tin foil, semi permanent hair dye, color bowl and brush, and shampoo and conditioner (semi permanent is fine because you don’t have to wash extensions often or really at all!)
(For dark hair extensions (dark blonde, brown, black) you will want to first go through the steps below with hair bleach so that the blue will show up!)
(P.S. these directions are only for hair extensions)
First off, you are going to want to wear clothes that you DON’T care about because blue hair dye is bound to get on you at some point throughout this process. But hey, creativity is a messy! So you are going to want to cover a large flat surface with tinfoil, brush your extensions out, and lay all of the clips evenly so that the extensions are as even as possible. I would definitely recommend getting a color bowl and brush from the beauty supply store because this helps with keeping the dye in one place rather trying to squeeze it out of the bottle the entire time (Not that I did that or anything…hehe!). Once you put your dye in the color bowl you can take the brush and begin to gently brush the dye on making sure that you’re covering just about half of the extensions with blue. Once you finish with all of the extensions flip them over and cover the other side of them with blue to the halfway point. After you finish covering the bottom of your extensions completely you can fold the tinfoil up to where the blue and natural color meet and let them sit for the amount of time suggested for your dye (this helps your extensions absorb the dye)!
Once the time is up, take your extensions into the shower or bathtub and shampoo and condition them until the water runs clear. This way you know for sure that all of the dye is out! Also, you don’t want to let any washed out dye sit on your shower or bathtub floor for too long because it will stain it, so make sure the dye gets washed down as you are washing your extensions out! Finally you can lay your extensions out to dry. Wait to brush them until after they are dry because it will make your extensions last much longer. Once your extensions are dry you can style them however you please with a heat protectant! One of my favorite heat protectants is the Super Skinny Serum by Paul Mitchell.
Thank you guys so much for visiting my site, I hope this tutorial can give you the best direction to making your own mermaid hair dreams come true! Thanks again for stopping by, have a great week and as always, stay delightful!
