Hey guys, I hope you have had an amazing weekend and happy Monday! It’s been good to be back in the swing of things and have a little bit of chilly weather approaching. I know everyone always has a hard time with those days that start off cool and end up hot so I have been trying to post looks that will be comfortable on those tricky fall transition days. This look has definitely been a favorite of mine because the tunic is full of fall colors and the distressed jeans give you just enough coverage to keep you nice and warm but also give you some breathing room for when it starts to warm up later in the day. This look would also be super cute with a moto jacket draped over your shoulders for those extra chilly mornings! I got these gold sandals from Lulu’s and they are currently out of stock but I will definitely let you guys know if I see them go back up. Until then I posted a very similar option at the link above. I accessorized this look with some of my favorite gold accessories to tie in with the shoes along with my Kate Spade “prospect place pippa leather satchel”. I used Naked 3 on my eyes to give this look effortless rose tones and on my lips I am wearing my new favorite lipstick Lilac Flush by Maybelline! I love how the color is in between light pink and purple and basically changes with what you have on. It’s also super moisturizing!

As you can see from these pictures Knight has been growing like a weed. He’s not my little baby anymore (cue the tears) but I’m so happy with all of the progress he’s made. We just finished up all of his shots so he can finally go in the dog park. He is only 4 months old but he’s so obedient and even sits on command without a treat! He is seriously the most cuddly little guy and I’m so so happy that he came into my life. He even cuddles with my cat Magoo!  I’ll continue to keep you guys updated but you can also follow his progress @knightthepuppy on Instagram.

Thank you guys so much for stopping by my site and if you have any comments or questions please feel free to comment below or email me at delightfullydujour@gmail.com. Have a wonderful evening and week loves and as always stay delightful!

(P.S. A little message to anyone out there who may not be feeling extra special tonight: YOU ARE SO SPECIAL! You’re amazing, smart, beautiful and talented. Know your worth and don’t let anything make you feel otherwise!)

Back to School and Comfort Go Hand in Hand

Hello friends! I hope you have all had a wonderful start to your week. I just knocked out my first class of senior year, icebreaker and all. Maybe it’s just me but those never seem to get any easier! I’m waiting for my next class and reminiscing on the very first class I ever had in this building. I was a wee little freshman, had no idea what I wanted to do yet and hadn’t even started the blog. Now with the blink of an eye I’m sitting on the hallway floor writing to you all about how fast it all went by and the blog is almost 2 years old. Isn’t it crazy how time flies!?

This look was one I knew I had to show you guys at the beginning of school because its seriously so comfy. Comfort is definitely one of the main things I look for when shopping and putting together outfits, but especially for school. I can’t stand sitting at a desk for a long stretch of time and not feeling super comfy. If you struggle to find a look that is cute but as comfortable as wearing gym clothes you’ve come to the right place. This dress is 100% comfortable but also stylish and I’m absolutely obsessed with the back! I paired this lace-up tent dress with my white converse, Nakamol wrap bracelet, Bourbon and Boweties bangle and Kendra Scott Magnesite studs- courtesy of Rocksbox. I kept the makeup for this look rather simple and used some natural golds from Maybelline’s The Nudes Palette and the Burt’s Bees lipstick “Brimming Berry”.  I love the Burt’s Bees Lipstick because it’s so moisturizing that it feels like you are putting on chapstick instead of lipstick!

Thank you guys so much for checking out my site and I hope you have a great rest of the week. If you have any comments or questions feel free to email me at delightfullydujour@gmail.com or comment below. Have a lovely evening and stay delightful!

Sometimes Transition is a Little Blurry, and That is A-OK

Hello loves! I hope you had a wonderful week. I’m headed home from the beach and then back to school within the next few days and I start classes again on Tuesday. It was so nice to have a little break but I also really enjoy being in my routine and keeping busy so I’m excited to be back on the grind! I’m starting to break out some fall transition pieces and this dress is perfect for days when it’s chillier in the mornings and warmer in the afternoons, plus it’s only $14– that’s Forever 21 for ya! I styled this dress with my favorite sneaks, black and white Adidas Superstars and some of my staple gold accessories. I thought this look would be perfect with rose toned natural makeup, so I used the Naked 3 palette on my eyes and natural brown earth tones for my lips. I used Burt’s Bees lipstick in “Suede Splash” which I love because it is so moisturizing and also has long-lasting color.

So as you guys may have noticed the photos for this look aren’t the best quality, a little blurry and not great lighting  (totally not the photographer’s fault). When I got these pictures this evening I was racing the sun to get ready and snap a few before it went down.  I was on vacation all week and may or may not have had a few drinks on the beach earlier today- it was 5 O’clock somewhere hehe! At first I felt like I couldn’t use these shots but then I realized that nothing is perfect and that imperfections are what can make a person or a moment unique. I started to think about transition clothing and how fall throws those days at you where you don’t know if you should being wearing a coat or a crop top and just how relatable that type of situation is to so many others in life. Sometimes change is uncomfortable, transitions can be confusing, “blurry” and far from picture perfect but how you choose to see and handle the situation can completely change whether or not the circumstances are bad or good. I know I spent too much time worrying about the quality of these pictures and looking back on it I wish I didn’t spend a minute or even a second being unappreciative of these photos because no matter how much I worried it wouldn’t have changed them, made them less blurry or more bright. Having the ability to see through the “blurriness” and find a way to overcome and grow through confusing unpredictable times will get you much further than dwelling on what isn’t or what could have been. In the end I am happy that these pictures turned out the way they did because if they hadn’t I wouldn’t have had the inspiration or outlook that I do as I type this post out.  I always want to center my site around my passions and lifestyle, I want it to have the ability to make life more enjoyable, convenient and uplifting for my readers, but I also want to provide my readers with my insights on life and how I overcome the personal challenges that I face. I truly want to be real with you guys because I think that is so important when it comes to something you are passionate about. While I love fashion, working out and cooking, I am also extremely passionate about writing and sharing my thoughts with the world in order to open others minds the way certain situations open mine.

On that note, thank you guys so much for stopping by! It truly means the world to me. Also, if you put your email in the subscribers box to the right you will automatically get my posts sent to you so that you don’t miss it all together when you’re not scrolling through Insta, Facebook, or Twitter. Hey guys! I hope you’ve had an awesome week. I finally finished summer classes (with all A’s and B’s yay!) and made it to Bald Head Island with my family! I ordered this flounce off-the-shoulder top from Victoria’s Secret a couple of weeks ago and I knew it would without a doubt be the first bathing suit worn on my vacation. The off-the-shoulder look is very flattering to your shoulders and its super easy to tan in, just make sure you pull off the sleeves so you don’t get a tan line on your arms! Summer may be coming to an end but the warm weather is here to stay for a while and now is one of the best times to go bikini shopping because there are so many on sale. This particular top is on clearance for 24.99$ and it comes in 3 other colors so ready, set, shop!

My family has been coming to Bald Head since my twin sister and I were young enough to run naked all over the beach (won’t be happening this time hehe). It’s such a beautiful and remote spot, the only way to get to the island is by ferry and the only transportation used is golf carts! Our house is a row back from the beach but there are no houses in front of us so the view is absolutely spectacular. I’m so happy to finally be here and to be able to relax after such a busy summer and also to recharge before fall semester starts!

Thank you guys so much for checking out my site I hope you have a wonderful day! If you have any comments or questions please don’t hesitate to leave a comment below or email me at delightfullydujour@gmail.com. Stay delightful loves!

Skinny Blueberry Muffins That Won’t Make You Feel Bad Going Back For Seconds (or Thirds)

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016

Hey guys! I hope you’ve had an amazing week so far! I’m finally on my last few days of summer class and I’m super excited and relieved that I was able to knock out 12 hours in just 10 weeks! If you guys follow me on snapchat (Kellzzzzzz) you saw the mess I made making these treats last night. Lately I have been trying to come up with clean healthy recipes that I can enjoy the way I do unhealthy food. Pretty much nothing can beat my mom’s fresh from the oven blueberry muffins, but these ones are pretty darn close! I was scrolling through Instagram yesterday and saw a slow motion video of blueberry muffins being made and I tried but couldn’t manage to slide my thumb and scroll through it. After I finished watching the video it was safe to say my sweet tooth was churning up some evil ideas. I’ve always seen recipes for clean desserts on Pinterest and what not, so I thought I’d finally give it a shot!

I based my recipe off of a few others and managed to come up with my own!

Skinny Blueberry Muffins

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 and 1/2 cups of all purpose flower
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt (I probably put a little less in)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup of Truvia – 75% fewer calories per serving than sugar
  • 1/2 cup of vanilla almond milk
  • 1/4 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup of plain greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 and 1/2 cups of fresh blueberries
  • 2 bowls
  • 12 cup muffin pan
  • whisk
  • measuring cups/spoons

  1. First you will want to heat your oven to 425F and spray a nonstick muffin pan down with Pam or another type of cooking spray or you can use muffin liners.
  2. Add the flour, baking powder and salt to a large bowl.
  3. Grab the second bowl and add the sugar, milk, vegetable oil, greek yogurt, and vanilla and whisk it until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Add the mixed ingredients to the first bowl with the dry ingredients and whisk until all of the ingredients are mixed together.
  5. Gently add the blueberries into the mixture.
  6. Use 1/4 measuring cup to add mixture to the pan filling each cup up about 3/4 of the way.
  7. Bake for 5 minutes at 425F and then lower the temperature to 375F and bake the muffins for 19-20 minutes or until golden.
  8. Take muffins out, let them cool for about 10 minutes and wa-lah your skinny blueberry muffins are ready!

I hope you guys can enjoy the final product as much as I did! If you have any comments or questions feel free to email me at delightfullydujour@gmail.com or comment below! Have a wonderful week loves, and as always stay delightful!
