Du Jour: popular, fashionable, or prominent at a particular time.
Hello there and thank you for visiting my site! My name is Kelly Palmer and I am a Public Relations major and Apparel Design and Merchandising minor at Appalachian State. I created Delightfully Du Jour about a year and a half ago to provide style, exercise, travel, home and cooking tips as well as the mental steps I use to lead a happy, healthy lifestyle. Through the blog I hope to provide insight on how I overcome life’s challenges and relate to my readers through my own experiences while providing you all with the tips that I use to feel confident and motivated throughout my day to day life. My main goal out of all is to make my readers feel more confident in every aspect of their lives because I truly believe that with organization, routine, convenience, the perfect red lipstick, and a great pair of shoes you can conquer anything. I have always loved to be creative, but I never really knew how to express my ideas. Once I started college it took me a year and a half, countless times changing my mind, and experimenting with a few different classes to realize that I loved writing and fashion and wanted to somehow put the two together for my potential career. Moral of the story: If you don’t know what you want to do, don’t give up, don’t settle for something you don’t love, and if you have a dream follow it.
As far as fitness goes I have always been an active person. I played soccer for 12 years but those days ended when I came to college. I had a lot of fun playing soccer and it kept me in great shape, but I’m glad I have more time to put towards what I am passionate about now. I’ve practiced yoga and Pilates a lot but recently I’ve really gotten into HIIT circuit training and weight training. I also love to run and do other forms of cardio. I’m really excited to keep you all updated on my workouts, progress and what works for me! I’ve just recently started counting my macros and working to eat as clean as possible. I love to come up with recipes that taste as good as they are healthy for you along with finding my favorite restaurants and dishes locally and while I travel. On that note I love to travel and experience new cultures. Internationally I have visited Amsterdam, Paris, Brussels, London, Nicaragua, Mexico, and I’m headed to Australia in May, the day after I graduate! I can’t wait to add many more places to that list, experience the world and bring my readers along for the ride.
I have two cats, a pup, and I love to spend time with my friends. This year I am the Vice President and the PR Chair of the Appalachian Apparel Association and I have also done some web design for the club site along with some personal resume type sites for my colleagues. Last year I interned with CollegeFashionista as a style guru and had a great experience. I really enjoy fashion photography and content creating for my blog and social media. In my alone time, I love to walk and play with my pup and read magazines such as StyleWatch, InStyle and Vogue. I also love to decorate my room and find new and more convenient ways to organize and improve the environment in my home. I can’t wait to share my life with you all and I hope my tips serve as useful advice to make life just a little bit easier!
Thanks again for visiting my site,
Stay tuned for more posts coming soon!
